Speeding Teen Causes Serious Injuries In Crash, Police In Pennsylvania Say

A teenage boy has been arrested after causing a crash that left "multiple people with serious injuries," police alleged in a release on Friday, Sept. 8.

The Newmanstown 16-year-old boy has been charged with  Aggravated Assault by Vehicle, Accidents Involving Injury, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Reckless Driving, as filed by Ephrata Police Officer Thorp on Aug. 11. 

The serious crash happened in the 900 block of South Cocalico Road, in West Cocalico Township on July 17, according to the police release. 

"Several emergency units arrived at the scene to conduct extrication and life-saving efforts," the police explained. "The emergency units included five ambulances, three paramedic units, Schoeneck Fire Company, Denver Fire Company, and Newmanstown Fire Company."

The teen's arrest is the culmination of Thorp's investigation which included warranted searches and multiple interviews.

The name of the teen was not released.
